Quality · गुणवत्ता
Quality is not a promise. It is a discipline.
Kern does not just claim quality — it takes responsibility for it. Every lot goes through strict checks before it reaches your dealer's counter, because when seed fails, the farmer loses money and confidence, and the dealer's name suffers too.

The 6 Gates of Error-Free Seed
Field roguing, 2–3 times
Every seed-production field is rogued two to three times. Foundation (mother) seed is grown under the supervision of our principal breeder, and each plant is screened individually.
Supervised harvesting
Harvest is where most accidental mixing happens. Our team supervises every harvest — machine condition, cleanliness and purity — with nothing left to chance.
Grow-out test (GOT) for every lot
Right after harvest, samples of each lot are sown again to check purity in the field — including open-pollinated seed, where most of the industry skips this step.
DNA testing before release
Every seed lot is DNA-tested before it goes to market — our 'Agni Pariksha'. We started this after variety mix-ups shook trust in paddy.
NABL and government lab testing
All lots are tested at a NABL-accredited lab and a government-authorised lab, so whatever is printed on the truthful label under the Seeds Act is backed by tests.
Eco-conscious inputs
We use treatments that are safe for the environment, support soil microbes and help the plant handle stress.
Raising the bar in Basmati paddy
Bakanae fields rejected
Any production field showing signs of Bakanae disease is rejected.
Manual harvesting
Seed fields are harvested by hand to protect purity.
Seed-treatment trials
We run seed-treatment trials for better resistance.
Strict QC on every batch
Every batch is checked before it is released.
“Quality is not what you see. Quality is what lasts every season.”
