If your plot holds standing water for more than two days, or has a sem problem, Kern 505 is not suitable — sow on ridges where drainage is weak. In arid belts without assured irrigation, this crop cannot be recommended.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eIf you want to make silage\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHarvest later, at 85–100 days, when the kernel shows a half to three-quarter milk line and dry matter reaches 30–35%. Chop to 1–2.5 cm with 90%+ grain crush, pack airtight, and leave at least 45 days.
